Getting up in the morning can be difficult. I tell myself every evening that I am going to wake up and cook a hearty breakfast and go to the gym, all before I head off for work. This will then allow me to have my nights to myself, right? WRONG.
I’m not a morning person. Never have been, never will be. But there are ways to make your mornings much easier on you such as downloading an alarm clock that tracks your stages of sleep to wake you up when you are at your lightest, setting a timer on your coffee maker so you have a fresh cup of joe as soon as you awake, or to try out the RISE-UP method!
The “R” means Refrain from hitting the snooze button.
The “I” stands for Increase your activity in the first hour. Meaning exercise right after you wake up, or just do something small like a quick walk.
The “S” stands for Shower.
The “E” stands for Expose yourself to sunlight.
The “U” is so you listen to “Upbeat” music.
The “P” stands for Phone a friend . . . because talking to someone forces you to be more alert.
Go ahead, give it a shot! Let us know how you like the method and if you would suggest adding an additional morning routine to help out even more on the comments section below. Good luck with your mornings, ya’ll!
